Planets exalted Points and their effect
According to Indian astrology What are the effects of Exalted planets, exaltation is one of the five essential dignities of a planet. The exaltation is a place of awareness for the planet, whereas the debilitation or fall is a position of weakness concerning the function of the planet. The sign position directly opposite a planet's sign of exaltation is considered to be its fall.
Each of the seven traditional planets has its highest exaltation point in one particular sign as under : -
Sun - 10° of Aries
Moon - 3° of Taurus
Mercury - 15° of Virgo
Venus - 27°of Pisces
Mars - 28° of Capricorn
Jupiter - 5°of Cancer
Saturn - 20° of Libra
So, when a planet is in his sign of exaltation in the chart, then he is best in dignity.
A planet acquires strength in various ways, such as being placed in a certain Rasi, Bhava, Varga, Day or Night time, Shukla or Krishna paksha, being Vakri or victorious in Graha Yuddha etc. Shadbala (six fold strength) is a mathematical model to quantify the strength attained from 6 different sources.
To understand real impact of various occupation, aspects and yogas (Planetary combinations) in a horoscope, one should have good estimate of the strength of the planets in a horoscope. Without which, one’s analysis can be misleading.
We should never forget that -The exaltation is just one of the measures of planetary strength.
That the planets are categorized as natural benefics and natural malefics. Planets become functional or conditional benefics and malefics in a chart, depending upon the lagna or ascendant,
Exalted Venus: Venus exalted in 27 deg. in Pisces. When Venus exalted the person is happy for no reason or happy in everything. the person is Spiritual, devoted, and respectful in nature.
Exalted Rahu: considered exalted in Taurus. Highly ambitious and practical.
- An exalted planet can give excellent results ?
If the planet is natural as well as functional benefic for the lagna in question, posited in a Kendra (Quadrant House) or a Trikona (Trinal House) in his sign of exaltation in the chart with sufficient strength and unafflicted by malefic planets and 6th, 8th and 12th lords, then this planet will certainly give excellent results pertainning to the house/s lorded by him, house occupied by him and in respect of his significances. Example 1. Sun in 1st house in aries ascendant Example 2. Mars in 10th house in Capricorn for Aries ascendant. - An exalted planet can give partly favourable and partly unfavourable results ?
If the planet is natural benefic, but at the same time partly functional malefic for the lagna in question, then this planet will give partly favourable and partly unfavourable results. Example 1: The exalted Jupiter in Cancer in lagna, can give health issues being 6th lord in lagna, but will give good results in respect of education, progeny, fortune etc.(If unafflicted) Example 2 : The exalted Moon in 10th house for Leo ascendant will give career having foreign connection, but will also give instability in career. - An exalted planet can give unfavourable results ?
If the planet is natural malefic as well as functional malefic for the lagna in question, will give unfavourable results. Example 1: The exalted Sun in Aries in 4th house for Capricorn ascendant can bring disturbance in happiness at home and may create situations of conflicts amongst kinsmen. Example 2 : The exalted Mars in 8th house for Gemini ascendant will be unfavourable in respect of Job, maternal uncle/s, (6th lord in 8th house), profits & gains, elder siblings (11th lord in 8th house) etc. Exalted Mars in 8th house also forms a strong Kuja/Manglik yoga.
