Kaalratri Mata Puja Vidhi And Mantra
Maa Kaalratri Mata Puja Vidhi, the seventh form of Goddess Durga, is worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri. She is the fiercest and most powerful form of the Goddess and is known as the destroyer of all evils, demons, and negative energies. Despite her fierce appearance, Maa Kaalratri bestows blessings of protection, fearlessness, and spiritual enlightenment. On the seventh day of Navaratri, Maa Kaalratri, the most fearsome and awe-inspiring form of the Goddess, is worshipped. The name "Kaalratri" (कालरात्रि) is a combination of "Kaal" (काल), meaning time or death, and "Ratri" (रात्रि), meaning night, darkness, or ignorance. Thus, Maa Kaalratri symbolizes the force that dispels darkness, bringing forth light, wisdom, and ultimate destruction of evil. She is often referred to as "Kaali," further emphasizing her fierce and powerful nature.
Maa Kaalratri is depicted with a dark complexion, representing her intense and unstoppable energy. She has four arms—two holding a Kripan (scimitar) and a Vajra (thunderbolt), while the other two are in mudras of giving boons and protection. Her three eyes radiate strength and wisdom, piercing through darkness and ignorance. Flames are said to emanate from her nostrils when she exhales, representing her fierce determination to eliminate all evil.
Her free-flowing hair and shining necklace, which gleams like the moon, reflect her wild and untamed nature. Uniquely, she rides a donkey, symbolizing her fearlessness and individuality. Despite her terrifying appearance, Maa Kaalratri is compassionate toward her devotees, showering them with blessings of prosperity and protection. Known by various names like Bhayakarini (the remover of fear) and Shubhankari (the bestower of good fortune), Maa Kaalratri embodies the truth that even in the darkest times, hope, positivity, and goodness prevail.
